Alys ferch Owain Glyndŵr was one of the daughters of Margaret Hanmer and Owain Glyndŵr, the disinherited prince of the old Welsh royal house of Powys Fadog, who led a major revolt in Wales between 1400 and ca. 1416 against King Henry IV of England.
When Alys ferch Owain Glyndwr was born in 1377, in Treffgarne, Pembrokeshire, Wales, her father, Owain Glyndŵr ap Gruffydd Prince of Wales, was 18 and her mother, Margaret Hanmer, was 20. She had at least 6 sons and 4 daughters with Sir John de Scudamore. She died in 1416, in Holme Lacy, Herefordshire, England, at the age of 39.

Owain ap Gruffydd (c. 1354 – c. 1415), commonly known as Owain Glyndŵr or Glyn Dŵr (pronounced [ˈoʊain ɡlɨ̞nˈduːr], anglicised as Owen Glendower), was a Welsh leader, soldier and military commander in the late Middle Ages, who led a 15-year-long revolt with the aim of ending English rule in Wales.
