Boom Boom Chi Boom Boom is the third studio album by Tom Tom Club, released in 1988. It includes a cover of the Velvet Underground's "Femme Fatale", with David Byrne, Lou Reed, and Jerry Harrison. The track "Suboceana" was released as a single in the UK in late 1988 and received some radio airplay.
The Tom Tom Club played a show at the Ritz in New York City on July 17th, 1989 to promote their album Boom Boom Chi Boom Boom. Much to the shock and and delight of the crowd, David Byrne and Talking Heads guitarist Jerry Harrison joined them for a handful of songs.
Talking Heads fue una banda de rock formada por David Byrne en el año 1974 junto a Chris Frantz y Tina Weymouth. Un par de años después se integraría el guitarrista y tecladista Jerry Harrison, quien anteriormente había grabado junto a The Modern Lovers.
Boom Boom Chi Boom Boom fue el primer álbum de Tom Tom Club que se publicó en CD y en su versión japonesa aparece una pista extra, el lado B "Devil, Does Your Dog Bite?" presentada también en la banda sonora de la película Married to the Mob .
Talking Heads leader David Byrne succeeded in creating an intriguing persona for himself with his staccato, slightly maniacal singing. The style doesn’t fit Weymouth as well when she adopts it for “I Confess”; it’s as if she’s trying to squeeze herself into someone else’s costume.
