Born in Brisbane, Australia, Jake started acting at a young age, in TV commercials, TV shows, films and theater. It wasn't until his late teens he found his real passion in music. He is the bass player for US rock band THE CALLING, best known for their smash hit, "Wherever You Will Go".

On August 15, 2013, Alex Band reformed the Calling with new members; Sean Kipe on lead guitar, Jake Fehres on bass, and Art Pacheco on drums. The band performed their comeback gig at Bally's Atlantic City on August 17.

The current band line-up includes Jake Fehres on bass, Alejandro Mercado on drums, and the addition of Patrick Morton and Alex Messano on guitars, Val Lapin vocals. On January 24 of 2017 Bratana opened for UDO Dirkschneider at the Whisky a Go Go.
