At Burnaby North Secondary School we strive to develop the full potential of every student by using many different approaches to learning in a range and variety of programs in grades 8 through 12. Founded in 1922, Burnaby North was the city’s first high school.
Burnaby North is a highly academic school which enrolls a population of over 2000 students in grades 8 through grade 12. The student body is composed of students from many ethnic backgrounds, although most of the students are of East-Asian descent.

The Ministry of Education has funded a new $79.2 million high school for Burnaby, expected to open in 2021. The 1800 seat school will have space for child care, adult education, and language development programs.
