During Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's campaign for presidency in 2014 and throughout his presidency, there were numerous claims that he didn't graduate from a university and therefore he is ineligible to be President of Turkey, because he was not a university graduate.

Marmara University (Turkish: Marmara Üniversitesi) is a public university in Istanbul, Turkey. The university is named after the Sea of Marmara and was founded as a university in 1982. However, it was created in 1883 under the name of Hamidiye Ticaret Mekteb-i Âlisi , in a house in the center of Istanbul . [2]
