Sincerity and Authenticity is a 1972 book by Lionel Trilling, based on a series of lectures he delivered in 1970 as Charles Eliot Norton Professor at Harvard University.

This is an edited transcript of a symposium conducted at Skidmore College in March, 1974. The occasion was a two-day meeting convened. to discuss Lionel Trilling's Sincerity and Authenticity. In the course of this meeting various panelists were able to engage Professor Trilling on a number of issues focussed in his book.
