Phillip Calvert (born 11 January 1958) is an Australian rock drummer and producer best known for his playing in the post-punk band The Birthday Party with Nick Cave.

18 de ago. de 2014 · During their brief and often revelatory existence, The Birthday Party consisted of Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Tracy Pew, Rowland S. Howard and Phill Calvert (until 1982). While only active for five years, only three of which were outside of their home of Melbourne, Australia, the impact the band had during that time was seismic.
Phill Calvert is a Melbourne-based drummer who played in The Boys Next Door, The Birthday Party and Blue Ruin. He also collaborated with Ben Ling in various bands and launched Behind the Beat Records in 2015.
