  1. Ray Herr, a folk singer who had been gigging with another local outfit, the Legends of Time, joined the Ides as alternate lead singer (alongside Peterik) and rhythm guitarist. This allowed Peterik to concentrate on lead guitar. Herr first appeared on "Girls Don't Grow on Trees" in 1967.

  6. 16 de jul. de 2012 · This version of the Ides was short-lived, but was notable because of the addition of Conrad Prybe on Trombone. This was after Ray Herr left and just before Dave Arellano joined on keyboards. Probably the last hurrah of the classic “Brass-Driven” Ides from back in the day.

  7. The Ides began in Berwyn, Illinois, with Cub Scout packmates Peterik (lead vocals and lead guitar), Larry Millas (keyboards), Mike Borch (drums), Ray Herr (guitar) and Bob Bergland (bass). In 1965 they were a British Invasion cover band called the Shondels, heavy on Hollies–like harmonies and tentative, very white R&B.
