31 de may. de 2019 · The faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lomonosov Moscow State University was founded in 1970 on the initiative and thanks to the efforts of one of the greatest Russian scientists of the 20th century — Academician Andrey Nicolaevich Tikhonov.
MSU Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics (CMC) (Russian: Факультет вычислительной математики и кибернетики (ВМК)), founded in 1970 by Andrey Tikhonov, is a part of Moscow State University.
The Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics offers two 4-year Bachelor’s Degree programs: Applied Mathematics and Informatics (AMI) and Fundamental Informatics and Information Technologies (FIIT).
CMC MSU students receive deep fundamental education in applied mathematics, statistics, informatics and computer science. They are taught to think globally and are well known for their non-standard approach to problem solving.
One of the major problems in mathematical cybernetics is the analysis of behavior of complex information systems such as microelectronic circuits, computer programs, net protocols, etc. In order to attack this problem, a wide variety of models and techniques from automata theory, graph theory, algebra, mathematical logics are invoked.
