Mick Slaven is a musician, composer and songwriter based in Glasgow, Scotland. He has a vast catalogue of recording and writing credits through his work as a session musician for other artists, recording his own music and from working as a composer in Theatre.
Michael Slaven (born 4 December 1961) is a session guitarist and record producer from Glasgow, Scotland. A former gardener at the University of Glasgow, Slaven became the guitarist for Bourgie Bourgie in the 1980s, and was briefly a member of Del Amitri.

Recorded in Glasgow and London with Mick Slaven on guitar, Waking Hours was the band’s first album for A&M records. In spite of broad critical acclaim on its release it was the UK chart success of the third single, ‘Nothing Ever Happens’ in January 1990 that brought the record, and the band to a wider audience.

Mick Slaven. Mick was a member of Del Amitri for the recording of the Waking Hours album, and left soon after, to be replaced by David Cummings, whose photo appears on the album instead of Slaven’s. Slaven was last seen touring with Deacon Blue.
