Phillip Jackson (September 28, 1951 – October 30, 2009), best known as Norton Buffalo, was an American singer-songwriter, country and blues harmonica player, record producer, bandleader and recording artist who was a versatile proponent of the harmonica, including chromatic and diatonic.
Kahumoku is joined by vocalist Diana Aki for a duet on the tragic love song “Keiki Mahine.” Other guest artists include slide-guitar master Bob Brozman and harmonica player Norton Buffalo, who adds a soulful blues wail to “Lei Pikake.”
This CD is a wonderful compilation of Hawaiian love songs by George Kahumoku Jr., featuring performances by Norton Buffalo, Bob Brozman, Diana Aki and others. The album was produced by George Kahumoku and George Winston, and released by Dancing CAT in 2001.
