Hannibal Lokumbe (born Marvin Peterson on November 11, 1948) is a prominent American composer and jazz trumpeter.
Svengali is a live album by jazz composer, arranger, conductor and pianist Gil Evans, recorded in 1973 by Evans with an orchestra featuring Ted Dunbar, Howard Johnson, David Sanborn, Billy Harper, Richard Williams, Trevor Koehler, and Hannibal Marvin Peterson.

This LIVE album recorded in New York City's Trinity Church and Philharmonic Hall [Zee Zee] is a fantastic amalgam of acoustic and electronic instruments with compositions by Evans, himself, Miles Davis, Billy Harper and George Gershwin [Summertime].
This is an Atlantic Studios mastered repress of the Darrell Johnson mastered quadraphonic original release, Gil Evans - Svengali. Plated and pressed by Presswell, Ancora, NJ. Pressing is identified by the etched PR in the deadwax, as well as the label matix suffix PR.

28 de mar. de 2024 · Zee Zee, a piece Gil has been using for some years now (I have a tape of a 1971 version in Berlin) is a moving piece for Marvin Peterson, like a windswept version of Sunken Treasure, which Gil used to feature Johnny Coles. The arrangement is indescribably moving, and Peterson makes the most of it with a mournful solo.
