Aarhus Teater offers theatrical plays and music theater on 4 stages in a variety of scales. In a season we have over 100.000 visitors. Being a theatre of and for the people, we offer a wide variety of performances from August - June.
The Aarhus Theatre (Danish: Aarhus Teater) in Aarhus, is the largest provincial theatre in Denmark. The present theatre house was constructed in the late 19th century, as a replacement for the old theatre, nicknamed " Svedekassen " (The Sweat-box).
The Aarhus Theatre is a listed building designed by Hack Kampmann in 1900, with four stages and 1,200 seats. It offers a diverse repertoire of its own and guest performances from September to June.
