Juan Mauricio de Nassau-Siegen, llamado El Brasileño, (Dillenburg, 17 de junio de 1604-Berg und Tal, 20 de diciembre de 1679) fue conde y (desde 1674) príncipe de Nassau-Siegen. Hijo de Juan VII de Nassau-Siegen y nieto de Juan VI de Nassau; sobrino-nieto de Guillermo de Orange.

Dorothea of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck, known also as Dorothea von Holstein-Beck and Dorothea von Ziedewitz, (24 November 1685 – 25 December 1761), was a German princess of the House of Oldenburg and by marriage Margravine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth -Kulmbach.
The House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck ( Schleswig-Holstein-Beck or Beck for short) is a line of the Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg branch of the House of Oldenburg. It consisted of August Philipp, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck (1612–1675) and his male-line descendants.
The conflict over the two duchies Schleswig and Holstein is a central part of Denmark’s history. It all started in 1232 when king Valdemar Sejr granted his younger son Abel the hereditary duchy of Sønderjylland (later called Schleswig).
