The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) is an art institution based in Burlington House in Piccadilly in London, England. Founded in 1768, it has a unique position as an independent, privately funded institution led by eminent artists and architects.
La Real Academia de Artes (en inglés: Royal Academy of Arts) es una institución artística de Londres, con sede en Burlington House, sobre la calle Piccadilly. Promueve el conocimiento, entendimiento y práctica de las artes visuales internacionalmente.
Ever since the Royal Academy was founded in 1768, we’ve been collecting artworks, books and artistic materials. Every artist and architect that’s been elected to join us as a Royal Academician has donated an example of their work, known as a Diploma Work, to our Collection.
We're home to Britain's longest established art school, the RA Schools. Every year since 1768 we've held an annual Summer Exhibition, the largest open-submission art exhibition in the world. We present our collection of art and architecture in free displays throughout our home on Piccadilly.
