Childebrand I (678 – 743 or 751) was a Frankish duke (dux), illegitimate son of Pepin of Heristal and Alpaida, and brother of Charles Martel. He was born in Autun, where he later died. He married Emma of Austrasia and was given Burgundy by his father, becoming a duke.

Nibelung was born of an unknown woman, perhaps Chrodelinde de Bavaria. Childebrand married Rolande whom gave birth to Count Fulcoald de Rouergue and Burgundy. He married Emma as he grew older. Duke Childebrand died in 0751 leaving his estate in France to Fulcoald and Spain to Nibelung.
