How the group pulled off one of the best live albums of all time, the double-LP Waiting for Columbus, is both a heartening story of persistence and a sad, cautionary tale about how band politics can become toxic, and destroy a beautiful thing in the process.
Waiting for Columbus is the first live album by the band Little Feat, recorded during seven performances in 1977. The first four shows were held at the Rainbow Theatre in London on August 1–4, 1977. The final three shows were recorded the following week at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C. on August 8–10.
16 de dic. de 2021 · Waiting for Columbus is a fine live album. However, compared to Feat’s blistering performance at the Rainbow Theatre on 25th January 1975, it pales in comparison. Probably the finest live gig I have ever witnessed.
