William Lee Currie (born 1 April 1950 [1]) is a British multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Huddersfield, England. He is best known as the keyboard and strings player with new wave band Ultravox, who achieved their greatest commercial success in the 1980s.

Billy Currie Biography and Discography. I was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, 1950. My full name is William Lee Currie. At a very early age I sang a lot, becoming aware that I had a keen ear for music.

Billy Currie is well known for his contribution to the group Ultravox and the studio project Visage playing Keyboards and Violin. Billy first started playing keyboards at the Huddersfield Music College back in 1965.
