Hace 4 días · We plan to spend 2 weeks exploring Sicily in mid October. We’ll fly into Catania and return from Palermo. We’ll be renting a car. Our tentative itinerary is; 3 nights in Catania. 3 nights in either Taormina or Messina. 3 nights in Cefalu. 2 nights in Palermo.

Hace 4 días · The Stromboli volcano, on a tiny volcanic island in the Aeolian archipelago off the northern coast of Sicily, belched fresh lava and smoke on Thursday in the latest in a string of eruptions. Last Friday, July 5th, Stromboli erupted for the first time since 2022, with streams of lava reported to have reached the sea.

Can only find flights going into Catania, have read a couple of negative comments about Catania so unsure now. Originally thought we’d do a Godfather day tour and perhaps a cooking class or street food tour.
