Hace 3 días · He sold Great Lever and the adjoining estates to Bishop Bridgeman in 1629, and the manor has descended to the present Earl of Bradford. Bishop Bridgeman, of whom an account will be found among the rectors of Wigan, resided at Great Lever after his purchase, rebuilding the hall and domestic chapel.
The new rector was a son of Sir Henry Bridgeman, who in 1794 was created Lord Bradford. He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge; M.A. 1790. He also became rector of Weston under Lizard and of Plemstall.
