Ronnie Foster (* 12.Mai 1950 in Buffalo) ist ein amerikanischer Jazzmusiker (Hammond-Orgel, Komposition) und Musikproduzent, der vor allem im Funk und im Soul Jazz hervorgetreten ist. Fosters Song „Mystic Brew“ wurde mehrfach gesampelt, zunächst 1994 für „Electric Relaxation“ von A Tribe Called Quest, später für den Song „Forbidden Fruit“ von J. Cole.

18 de nov. de 2023 · Ronnie Foster. Ronnie Foster began playing piano at the age of 4. By age 12 he had switched to Hammond organ and became a student of the jazz great Jimmy Smith. At age 15, Ronnie started playing with George Benson on weekends, while still in school. After graduating from high school Ronnie began a two-year stint with The Billy Wooten Trio.
Foster first caught the ear of Blue Note co-founder Francis Wolff when he made his first-ever recording as a sideman on jazz guitar legend Grant Green’s searingly funky Blue Note LP, Alive! in 1970.
