Romy and Michelle definitely followed in the footsteps of this film. As did Kath and Kim. Muriel’s Wedding has some quotable lines “you’re terrible Muriel”. A memorable scene is when Rhona has revenge on the mean girls in Bali. The Aussie boys are nice to look at (though should’ve been featured more often).
