Because we want to bring the best people to Harvard regardless of their financial circumstances, we follow two important principles: Need-blind admissions. Your financial need and your aid application will never affect your chance of being admitted to Harvard. 100% need-based aid. We base aid awards on need, not on merit.
At Harvard, we use our own methodology to award our need-based financial aid. Ideally we would collect all of the financial aid application materials at the same time, allowing us to send students a comprehensive financial aid decision, listing their eligibility for both federal and institutional funds, at the time they are admitted.
