Charles Allston Collins, né à Londres le 25 janvier 1828 et mort le 9 avril 1873 dans cette même ville, est un peintre, illustrateur et écrivain britannique associé au mouvement préraphaélique. Il est également le gendre du grand romancier britannique Charles Dickens .
The Trial for Murder is a collaborative work published in 1866 in Three Ghost stories, written by Charles Dickens and Charles Allston Collins. It is a mystery story with the ghost of a murdered man haunting a juror (narrator) and the court of the trial of the accused murderer.

Description Charles Allston Collins, the brother of author Wilkie Collins, was a British artist and illustrator. Although not an official member his work is most closely associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. He later embarked on a writing career his most successful work was 'The Eye Witness' published in 1860.
