Georgiana Burne-Jones (b. 21 July 1840 – d. 2 February 1920) Georgiana Burne-Jones is one of the central characters in my novel of the Pre-Raphaelites, Beauty in Thorns, along with her daughter Margaret, Lizzie Siddal and Jane Morris, all writers and artists in their own right. The daughter of a God-fearing Methodist minister, Georgie met Edward Burne-Jones when she was ten.

As the last major figure associated with the Pre-Raphaelites, he led the movement into new symbolist directions where the expression of a mood or idea replaced the earlier focus on providing a realistic description of the natural world.
Georgiana (1840–1920) married the Pre-Raphaelite painter Edward Burne-Jones in 1859. Agnes married the future president of the Royal Academy Edward Poynter. Her husband later painted two of her sisters. She, Jane Morris and her sisters Louisa and Georgiana are thought to be the inspiration for figures in Burne-Jones 1864 painting Green Summer.
